Guild News, as we're sure most of you will already know, is The Journal of The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists, the professional trade body for beauty therapists in the UK.

Edited by Lynne Archer, it is one of the leading professional beauty magazines. It is also one of the most readable and informative, its glossy appearance belieing its down-to-earth, easy-reading approach to what can be an intimidating subject.

Perhaps because of its dedication to improving the standards of excellence throughout the industry, Guild News is at the forefront of the drive to improve student education. It also helps that its founders are beauty professionals rather than career magazine publishers. It's something that shines through from the front cover to the back. It says 'here is a magazine written and published by beauty professionals, specifically for other beauty professionals and students of the beauty industry.'

Guild News magazine was born out of parent trade association, The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists. Recently voted the industry's favourite trade association with a membership now topping 4,000, it was first established in 1994. It is widely consider to be the most influential trade association in the professional beauty industry.

Latterly of course, The Guild has subsequently gone on to launch its own highly successful trade show, Beauty Midland, held annually at Donington Park in late February. It augments The Guild's many other professional beauty services, which include providing both indemnity insurance and recruitment services, and the industry's most visited web site, BeautyServe.com.

All in all, membership of The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists is thoroughly recommended for anyone new to the industry. There is a special introductory Student offer of 10 magazines a year, together with Student Membership of The Guild, for just 35 a year.

Alternatively, there is a special introductory Student offer of 10 magazines a year for just 25.
